Mom, Dad, and I stayed in a, well, vintage hotel in a, well, vintage neighborhood called the Tenderloin. It would seem that many, many (MANY) homeless people also keep house in this same neighborhood.
Since it is San Francisco, these are friendly chatty homeless neighbors. No matter the time of day or night, we always got a "hey all y'all". That in and of itself isn't necessarily a problem, but the thing is that sometimes that "hey all y'all" was a little over enthusiastic and/or even aggressive and oft times followed up with a "hey all y'all give me money".
So, Mom devised an ingenious plan - should we be accosted by an overly friendly neighbors, we simply drop to the ground, curl up in a ball just like a rolly-polly bug, and, leveraging the hills of San Francisco, roll to safety.
Ta-DA!
