Since last September, I've been on the Monday to Thursday commute:
- 4am - wake up
- 5am - taxi call
- 6am - leave DCA headed to nondescript random mid-America city
- 8am - connect in larger nondescript random mid-America city headed to nondescript small mid-America city; stop at Starbucks for yogurt and granola mix-thing.
- 9am - land in nondescript random mid-America city
- 9:20am - rent nondescript Budget/National/Dollar rental car
- 10am - arrive at nondescript Fortune 100 client site exhausted but expected to work till 7pm thinking up things that will make my employer even more money than they already have
- 7pm - leave nondescript Fortune 100 client site to Marriott/Sheraton/Hilton; check-in
- 8pm - work till eyes cross. Then go to bed.
- Tues-Thurs 3pm - work, work, work
- Thurs 3pm - head to airport
- 4pm - return nondescript Budget/National/Dollar rental car
- 5pm - check in
- 6pm - sit at airport bar with colleagues and complain about work
- 7pm - take off from nondescript random mid-America city
- 8pm - connect in larger nondescript random mid-America city headed to DCA; stop at ABP for sandwich (this varies each week)
- 9pm - land at DCA; RUN for the taxi stand
- 10pm - home
And then do it all again the next week. Scenes from said described life:
