Not very often do I get to see or experience something with
someone who’s seeing or experiencing it for the first time. But this weekend I went to the beach with
four Nigerian colleagues – two of whom had never been to the beach and only one of whom
had actually been in the ocean.
The
phrase, "First we abhor, then tolerate, then embrace" was splendidly illustrative. All had to be nearly dragged from the ocean when it was time to go.
